Died in the Cedar City Hosopital. He had caught pneumonia while swimming in the sulphur springs near Hurricane, Utah, he cooled off too fast and got sick.

Funeral services were held in the Cedar City Second Ward. The High Priests walked as a Quorum two blocks from Uncle Frank Thorley's house to the Ward Chapel in his honor.
