Article in the Flint Journal by Dan Fearson
If you knew Davis W. Brennan, also known as "Dave the Doorman," then you've heard the saying "bring the noise."
It was a popular yell Brennan made when introducing a band.
Brennan, the 41-year-old doorman of the Corunna Road Bar in Flint, died Saturday from a heart attack. "He always greeted people with a warm handshake and a smile," said Brennan's longtime girlfriend, Carrie R. Davis of Flint. "He met the world to everyone that came into the bar." Brennan's fun atmosphere in the bar lively, co-workers said. He began working the door in June of 2001.
"He was just one of those people that was so full of life," said co-worker Dani Szikizay. "He loved his job. He never took a day off, even if he was sick. Brennan often introduced the live band and did it in a fun fashion. "He was the bar. You could have been the worst band in town, but Dave would always say, nice job and greeted you with a smile." said Kevin Zimmer of the band Last Warning. Brennan was born in West Virginia but lived in various parts of the country throughout Childhood because his father was in the U. S. Navy. Brennan also served in the Navy from 1981-85. "He was classically trained musician." Davis Said. "He played 11 different kinds of instruments, and had a beautiful voice." Brennan had three children, Jason 14, Allana 11, and Jesse 9. According to Davis, he was writing songs about each one of them," said Davis. "He loved his children. He was devoted to them," Davis said. A few years ago, a fire destroyed the home Brennan was living in, and he still managed to get to work without a problem. "Hes house basically burned down, but he picked right back up and started over again," Szikizay said. Brennan also leaves his mother, Joanna of Paradise. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was planned for 3 P.M. today at Mt. Morris Christian Faith Church.

This information is from Allen Brennan's book
Edward Brennan (son of James and Margaret) and Helen Sinclair married sometime in the early 1860's and lived near Stratford, Ontario in Perth County. Their first three children were born in Cananda and the other seven in America. Based on the census data they came to the United States around 1869 and lived near Ecorse, Michigan. Edward was a farmer and moved to the Tawas City area by 1874 and purchased 20 acres southwest of the city on December 9, 1875 for fifty dollars. Eventually he owned 60 acres in the area. Around 1879 he left the Tawas area and moved to Pinconning, Michigan and farmed until he retired. Following his retirement he moved to Bay City where he and his wife Helen, died in 1926. Helen died on March 10, 1926. Edward died shortly thereafter on May 5, 1926 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Bay City. Edward and Helen are buried in the old section next to the road at St. Patrick's Cemetary. There is only one headstone with both names on it. A large number of the other Brennans are also buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Helen Sinclair was a Episcopalian and converted to becoming a Catholic when she married Edward. "Helen Sinclair would say that had I known that becoming Catholic would lead to having ten children, she would have thought twice." Helen (Gawn) Bolds said her grandparents were very kind and fun loving people who loved to play cards (euchre) on weekends and were pretty good drinkers. She remembers them playing cards and putting a glass of whiskey on the corner of the table and the winner would get to drink and the loser could only get a whiff of the glass. In their older age the lived in the same house but in seperate quarters. Edward did his own cooking, but they were friends.
