Notes

  • Timothy Kirkpatrick Chism tells us that his grandfather, AlonzoHerbert
Chism was 2nd LT in the U S Army during the Civil War and mustered outat
Mt Sterling, Kentucky.  He married a local girl(meaning where hemustered
out?).  They came back toward Tompkinsville, but stopped at Beaumontand
lived there for two years.  That was where my father, Trotwood Kirby"T K"
Chism, was born. Then they moved to Thompkinsville.  T. K. Chism livedto
be 94 years old, living in Thompkinsville all but the first few monthsof
    his life.

Alonzo worked with a silversmith at Mt Sterling and continued thistrade at
Tompkinsville.  His son T. K. Chism, took up the trade in 1894 andturned
it over to his son, Tim K. Chism about 1940, where he continues tothis day
with T. K. Chism Jewelry Store.
