My Chapman Linage


Thomas was born circa 1757 in Hawnby. He married Abigail (Cain) four years after arriving in the new land. Their children were Thomas, Abigail, David, James, George, Martin, Eleanor, Phillip, Benjamin.

Thomas settled in Fort Lawerence with his wife Abigail and their children. There he built a brick house using the clay from the marsh. The house still stands today and is presently a national historic site. Thomas was the collector of Imports and Excise. He also engaged in farming.


James was born 1784 in Fort Lawrence. He married Annie (Travis). Their children were Robert Dickie, Andrew Reed, Deborah, Gilbert Thomas and Eliza A..

James named his first born after his brother in-law Robert Barry McGowan Dickey whose son Robert Barry Dickey later became one of The Fathers of confederation. 

In 1822 James purchased a parcel of land from John Chapman in Hillsborough (now called Coverdale) for a sum of 450 pounds sterling and built what was known in that area as the Chapman House. James later sold the house to his son Gilbert in 1863 after staying there 31years


Gilbert Thomas Chapman was born 1824. He married Letila T. (Cockran). Their children were Clifford A., Annie F., William Hazen and Blair E..

Gilbert resided in Coverdale where he lived in the home he purchased from his father until 1894 when sold it to his son Blair. Gilbert was a farmer 


William Hazen Chapman was born 1856. He married Emma Florance (Moran). Their children were Cyril Gilbert Moran, Willie and Muriel.

William Hazen resided with his wife Emma and their family in Dorchester N.B. and was a Lawyer by trade.


Cyril Gilbert Moran Chapman was born in Dorchester N.B.. He married Laura Beatrice (Mealy). Their children were Douglas Dunbar, Donald George, Isobel Haz n and  Robert Vernon.

Cyril Gilbert resided with his wife Laura and their family in Dorchester N.B. Cyril was a Lawyer, Sheriff, and Magistrate in the village of Dorchester.


Robert Vernon Chapman was born in Dorchester. He married Theresa Marie (Boudreau). Their children are Richard Vernon, David Charles and Peter Robert.

Robert Vernon was raised in Dorchester N.B.. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1942 and served in WW2 as an Armorer of Guns and Bombs with the 401 Sqd. 126 Wing until 1945. He rejoined in 1947 and served in the Construction and Engineering section until his retirement. In his civilian life he taught Plumbing and Oil Burner Service. 

Robert began working on our Genealogy in 1972 and still actively pursues it today.


My Boudreau Linage


Michel Boudreau / Boudrot
(Lt. Gen) was born circa 1600 in France. He married Michele Aucoin who was born circa 1611 in France.

Michel Boudrot  was the Lt. General of Port Royal, Acadia in 1686 and an officer of justice. He was empowered to pass judgment in civil and criminal
cases. Michel was confirmed in this postion by the Sovereign Council.
He was the originator of the surname Boudrot (Boudreau) in Acadie.
He died between 1687 and 1693.


Francios Boudreau  was born in circa 1667, Port Royal. He married Marie Magdeline Belliveau who was born in circa 1692

According to the Census of Acadia in 1698 he was a farmer


Pierre Boudreau was born June 30, 1712 in Port Royal. In 1735 he married Madeline Melanson and then remarried in 1753 Madeline Belliveau.

b. 30 Jun 1712, Port Royal, L'Acadie, Canada, m. (1) 31 Jan 1735, in Port Royal, L'Acadie, Canada, Madeline Melanson, b. 27 Jan 1713, m. (2) ABT 1753, Madeline Belliveau, b. 14 Jan 1725.

Originally from Port Royal, the expulsion forced Pierre to re-establish his family in Memramcook , New Brunswick. He became the ancestor of many Boudreau families in South Eastern New Brunswick


Charlitte (Charles) Boudreau was born Circa 1760. He married Anne (Nanon) Gaudet. He died September 15, 1847 in Barachois, New Brunswick


Pierre Boudreau was born June 10, 1806 in Grand Digue, New Brunswick. In 1827 he married Marie Brun and then remarried in 1837 Modeste Belliveau


Ambroise Boudreau was born November 30, 1831 in Barachois, New Brunswick. he married Marguerite Thibodeau and then remmarried in 1893 Prudent Landry. Ambroise died on May 20, 1913 in Aboujagne, New Brunswick.


Aime Boudreau  was born in 1855 and married Olive DeRosia in 1878. Amie died in 1895


Abel Joseph Boudreau was born July 24, 1878 in Aboujagne, New Brunswick. On August 21, 1902 he married Marie Emelie Landry who was born September 30, 1885 in Cap-Pele.

Abel and Emile had 13 children. Emile lived to be 103 years old


Theresa Marie Boudreau married Robert Chapman on September 17, 1949 in Sackville New Brunswick. They had three children Richard Vernon, David Charles and Peter Robert.
