Welcome
to Chapy's Realm
In 1972 my father, “Robert Vernon
Chapman” began researching our Chapman genealogy with nothing more
then a few names that his father had scribbled down on a piece of
paper. Using that as a starting point, our Sunday family drives
would often end up at a cemetery looking for and recording
information that would provide clues to the links of our past. The
trips to the cemeteries evolved into trips to libraries, museums and
such or where ever a source of information could be found
Without the
aid of a computer for the first 20 – 25 years his persistence and
thirst for new information allowed him to trace our ancestors back
to the earliest known Chapman’s to arrive in the New World. From
there the genealogy would fan out to about 4000 family
connections.
His enthusiasm
eventually spread and about 10 years ago I became inflicted with the
genealogy bug and the never ending hunger for new information. Today
with both of us trying to feed our obsession, our combined research
has given us connections to over 16,000 individuals has also grown
to include the families of BOUDREAU, MEALEY, MORAN, COCHRAN,
LANDRY, DUNBAR, MACKENZIE, DOIRON/GOULD, SIMPSON and
LIRET/LAURETTE.
Genealogy is
something that is meant to be shared and the pages that you find
within the Realm is our way of giving back what others shared with
us. If you can add information or notice something that isn’t
correct, drop us a line. We would love to hear from you. |
