591. John¹¹ Calkins (Deacon Hugh¹²)⁽⁶⁷²⁾ was born Monmouth, Wales circa 1634.⁽⁶⁷³⁾ John died January 8, 1703/1704 in Norwich, New London, CT, at age 68.⁽⁶⁷⁴⁾

He married Sarah Royce 1658.⁽⁶⁷⁵⁾ Sarah was born 1634.⁽⁶⁷⁶⁾ Sarah⁽⁶⁷⁷⁾ was the daughter of Robert Royce and Mary Sims. Sarah died May 1, 1711 in Norwich, New London, CT, at age 76.⁽⁶⁷⁸⁾ He worked on the mill-dam at New London in 1652. He was one of the selectman of Norwich in 1671, and on the jury of the county court as late as 1691.

John Calkins and Sarah Royce had the following children:

592 i. Hugh¹⁰ Calkins⁽⁶⁷⁹⁾ was born in Norwich, New London, CT June 1659. Hugh died September 15, 1722 at age 63.⁽⁶⁸⁰⁾

593 ii. John Calkins⁽⁶⁸¹⁾ was born in Norwich, New London, CT July 1661.

594 iii. Samuel Calkins⁽⁶⁸²⁾ was born in Norwich, New London, CT October 1663. He married Hannah Gifford.⁽⁶⁸³⁾ Hannah was born January 14, 1670/1671 in Norwich, New London, CT. Hannah⁽⁶⁸⁴⁾ was the daughter of Stephen Gifford and Hannah Gore.

595 iv. Sarah Calkins⁽⁶⁸⁵⁾ was born in Norwich, New London, CT June 1666.

596 v. David Calkins⁽⁶⁸⁶⁾ was born in Norwich, New London, CT March 1667/1668. David died March 1667/1668 in Norwich, New London, CT, at age unknown.

+ 428 vi. Mary Calkins was born May 1669.

597 vii. Elisabeth Calkins⁽⁶⁸⁷⁾ was born in Norwich, New London, CT April 1673.

598 viii. Ann Calkins⁽⁶⁸⁸⁾ was born in Norwich, New London, CT August 1678.
